Remote work culture

Slack screenshots are the new office pictures

Here are some anecdotes of our remote work experiences during these last 14 months as a way to share a glimpse of Monito's culture in a digital-first environment:

Donut (Do Nut Be a Stranger) Calls

A Slack app that effortlessly pairs your with 2-3 randomly chosen colleagues for a coffee/tea break each week. A great way to interact with your colleagues to share your week-end plans, show your pets or play an online game.

According to our 2020 donut digest, it looks like the team made a lot (123) of them compared to other companies our size.

Slack channels for async communication

Slack is a great work tool, but we also love to use #random to share jokes and participate in Donut's digital watercooler discussions (food-related questions drives the most engagement 🍕), share memes, or little challenges.

#traveling is getting pretty popular as well:

Tandem as a digital office

Tandem is a great app for starting a quick unplanned video chat with a colleague the same way you would pop by their desk. It also has digital room where one can join for a focus session (virtual office with shared music), a spontaneous coffee chat or an afterwork session.

Digital Parties

For Christmas 2020, we organized a remote party. We shipped a box of goodies to everyone (in Switzerland, for the first iteration) and organized a Monito Quiz and a digital escape game. Pascal also shared the funny story of how we acquired our domain name Monito.com.
